Amara was founded in 2019 by Gauri Sharma, who grew up in India and built her career in the United States.

That dual experience — Indian craft tradition and American market sensibility — became the lens through which every Amara collection is designed.

Amara means Eternal.

It reflects what we believe good design should be: objects with a real maker behind them, built from natural materials using techniques refined across generations, and made to last far beyond a single season.

We partner directly with skilled artisans across India, working with communities where craftsmanship is both a livelihood and a living tradition.

Our collections are designed in the United States and handcrafted in India, with our team closely involved throughout the process to ensure quality that holds up beautifully at scale.
